The TikTok Girlies Are in Mourning
Big 10 Championship: It wouldn’t be a proper weekend without history for Caitlin Clark! In a tight overtime battle on Sunday, the Iowa women's basketball team snagged their third consecutive Big 10 National Championship, beating Nebraska 94-89. In the least surprising news, this was the first-ever sold-out Big Ten women's Basketball tournament game. Many of those tickets were there to see Caitlin Clark as she broke the record for most 3-pointers made in a single season, previously held by who other than Steph Curry.
CONFACAF: The USWNT are no strangers to gold. They secured the CONCACAF Gold Cup after a win against Brazil yesterday. Captain Lindsey Horan scored a stoppage-time header in the first half, sealing their 1-0 victory. Making the win that much sweeter was a total of 31,528 fans turning up in San Diego, the most ever recorded for a CONCACAF women's match. The team will next play in the SheBelieves Cup in April.
SEC Championship: Tensions were high during Sunday’s SEC Champion game between South Carolina and LSU. With about two minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, an on-court brawl broke out after South Carolina’s 6-foot-7 Kamilla Cardoso shoved LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson to the ground in response to Johnson’s foul on SC’s MiLaysia Fulwiley. Six players were ejected from the game and South Carolina walked away with the win, beating the Tigers 79-72.
