NYFW Goes Sportsish
The intersection of athletes and fashion is basically a match made in Sportsish heaven.
When it comes to the world of fashion, the presence of athletes is a game-changer. The seamless blend between sports and fashion has captivated audiences worldwide, from David Beckham gracing the front row at one of Victoria's shows to Beyoncé's powerhouse launch of a new Ivy Park collection. The relationship between these two industries continues to redefine the boundaries of style, proving that they go hand-in-hand perfectly.
Whether serving as the face for a new campaign or using pre-game arrivals as a personal runway to showcase their style, more athletes are extending their iconic status beyond the courts and into the fashion world. So naturally, now that an incredible, sports-packed summer is ending, NYFW invited some of the hottest names in sports, just in time to satisfy our Sportsish cravings. Here's a quick recap of some of the athletes spotted at the various runways and parties that kicked off the fashion month in the Big Apple.
Jordan Chiles - Kim Shui
Proving once again that she's That Girl, Jordan made her NYFW debut at the Spring Summer 2025 Kim Shui show. She was in charge of closing the runway in a dreamy leotard with flowing panels on the sides, styled with two long braids and sneakers—the perfect athleisure-meets-fashion look.
Suni Lee - Several Shows
Jordan wasn't the only member of the Fierce Five in a fashion mood. Her teammate and close friend, Suni Lee, was seen front and center at several shows, including the Tommy Hilfiger show, the TUNL launch party, the Off-White after party, and the Tory Burch show, making her NYFW's newest star."
Olivia Culpo - Alice + Olivia
Olivia Culpo, the stunning supermodel and beloved WAG, appeared in an elegant all-white ensemble at the star-studded fashion show. Her look exuded post-bridal charm, reminding us of her enchanting summer wedding to 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey.
Flavor Flav - Off White's Afterparty
Following his unwavering support for Team USA this summer at the Olympics, including sponsorship of the women's water polo team and a heartwarming gesture towards gymnast Jordan Chiles, Flavor Flav has cemented his position as Team USA's number one hype man. His dedication was displayed as he proudly attended Off White's party, sporting a Team Waterpolo version of his iconic timepiece.
Venus Williams x Lacoste Anniversary Party
The seven-time Grand Slam winner attended Lacoste's 90th anniversary rooftop party, hosted by the brand's designer, Pelagia Kolotouros. She looked stunning in a black net bodysuit, perhaps a subtle nod to her days in the courts.
Kysre Gondrezick - Sergio Hudson
Kysre, WNBA star and girlfriend of Celtics guard Jaylen Brown, attended Sergio Hudson's show in a dreamy monochromatic brown look accentuated by one of the designer's perfectly structured corsets.
Jayden Brown - TUNL Gala
TUNL, a new media and e-commerce platform focused on fashion, sports, and culture, hosted a launch party during NYFW. The name is a nod to athletes' tunnel walk looks, and the guest list appropriately included athletes from various disciplines, such as Celtics guard Jaylen Brown, who wore an all-black ensemble.
Midge Purce - Carolina Herrera
After an unfortunate injury left her out of the Olympics, Gotham FC's star forward looked stunning at Carolina Herrera's fashion show in a brown column look that matched the regal and minimalistic setting.
