Not So Secret Love Song: Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s Relationship Timeline
If Taylor and Travis have taught us anything, it’s that we love a pop star and athlete relationship. America’s king and queen are hard to beat, but Posh and Becks, Victoria and David Beckham, have basically been the OG’s since the 90’s. But there’s another couple across the pond who deserve some recognition, too: Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Perrie, Alex, and Axel
Strangely similar to the Beckhams, Perrie was part of the girl group Little Mix before recently embarking into solo music, and Alex is an accomplished English soccer player. Perrie rose to fame when Little Mix won The X Factor UK and recorded numerous subsequent hit songs. Since the band’s split, she has released three singles from her debut album, which will come out soon. She’s also known for having been engaged to Zayn Malik and their Little Mix-One Direction crossover relationship, which occupied headlines for years. On the other hand, Alex is known for playing soccer for Arsenal FC, although he now plays for a Turkish club. He has also made 35 appearances for the England national team, including World Cup and Euro championships.
November/December 2016
The first time the two sparked romance rumors. Fans spotted Perrie at an Arsenal vs Tottenham game, and Alex was spotted backstage at the X Factor, where Little Mix performed.

Later that year, the two were spotted at the Brit Awards as Little Mix won Best British Single for "Shout Out To My Ex," and a congratulatory kiss from Alex. Years passed, with more adorable social media content, public outings, vacation trips, and appearances at soccer games and award shows.
They spent Christmas together, and seemed more in love than ever.

In Early 2018, it seemed clear that the two were clearly an item with Alex spending more time at Perrie’s new house , and by February 2019 they were walking the red carpet together at the Brit Awards.

Perrie announces she is pregnant! The couple announced on social media that they were expecting their first child. Even more wholesome, she was pregnant simultaneously with her bandmate and close friend, Leigh-Anne. Call it black magic?
