During the 4x100m relay, he and his teammates set a new world record. As they celebrated their victory, he raised his arms in the air, unintentionally revealing his impressive abs. This unexpected moment created an internet frenzy.

The 23-year-old man, a perfect 6 feet 6 inches tall, was born in Thiene, Northern Italy. He grew up swimming with his brother, Efrem, and also played tennis at a high level but ultimately chose swimming.

His Olympic debut was in 2021 in Tokyo, where he won a silver medal in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay and a bronze medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay for Italy. In his 100m backstroke finals, he narrowly missed out on a medal when he finished fourth place but redeemed himself this year and took home the gold.
