We’re All Idaho Band Fans

Women’s Basketball: The girls from Iowa are just built different. Audi Crooks made HERstory Friday night as she dropped 40 points during Iowa State's matchup with Maryland, setting the record for points scored in a single game of the Women's March Madness Tournament. While her team fell to Stanford in the second round, it’s official that Audi is on the MAP. Queen Caitlin Clark helped lead her team, the Iowa Hawkeyes, to a 91-65 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday putting up 27 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds. The Lady Hawks now face No. 8 West Virginia (who beat No. 9 Princeton on Saturday) in the second round tonight at 6:00 p.m.

Men’s Basketball: The men's tournament has brought plenty of upsets but few as shocking as No.13 Yale taking down No.4 Auburn. Of course, our favorite headline from the night wasn't about the team, but the band. After learning Yale's band had been unable to make the trip to Spokane, the University of Idaho’s band, who were nearby stepped up to support their team. On Friday morning, they rehearsed Yale's fight song in the gym and performed it multiple times that night, rallying behind the Ivy League team during their 78-76 comeback victory over the Tigers.

NWSL: Cue the LL Cool J. After dropping their season opener 2-0 vs the Chicago Red Stars, the Utah Royals made a comeback this weekend beating the North Carolina Courage 2-1 on Saturday. It was Kate Del Fava who scored the first goal of the season, a special moment seeing as Kate was first drafted to Utah back in 2020 prior to the team’s fold, and transfer to Kansas City. Now Kate and the rest of the Royals are back in the Beehive State and we have the feeling this win will be the first of many.
