The Best Fashion From the Paris Olympics So Far
Olympic fashion never goes out of style. Every four years, the Summer Olympics is an opportunity for athletes and their teams to express their style in the outfits for their events and the famed Opening Ceremony. A few days into the 2024 Paris Olympics, there have been a multitude of amazing outfits, but here are some fashion highlights so far.
Gymnastics
Team USA clinched gold in the team final yesterday, and the Final Five stunned in their leotards. Not only do the gymnasts prepare for four years for the esteemed Olympics, but it also takes four years of preparation to create the outfits. Their leotards are embellished with around 10,000 Swarovski crystals, and the uniforms took over 50 people to create.
Team Brazil also secured bronze medals in the competition, also with gorgeous leotards and standout eye makeup.
Team Mongolia at the Opening Ceremony
There were amazing outfits on display at the rainy Opening Ceremony along the River Seine, but Team Mongolia’s uniforms take the cake. Designed by Michel & Amazonka, each look of the country’s 32 participants outfits took 20 hours to complete. The uniforms took inspiration from the National Naadam Festival in Mongolia. This cultural element makes the look even more special to the team and their heritage. The symbol of a falcon represents strength, agility, and triumph.
Coco Gauff
Coco Gauff continued her partnership with New Balance and wore a matching red and blue tennis set which is perfect for representing Team USA.
With 11 days of competition left, we are looking forward to the rest of the fashion looks the athletes will serve.
