Taylor’s WAG squad

Sure, the NFL is fun, but have you ever watched Taylor at the games? The anticipation of which iconic vintage merch piece she’ll be wearing that day? Will her outfit become a non-existent easter egg for the swifties to analyze for hours on end? Shall her ‘87’ necklace make an appearance, or maybe the friendship bracelet version Travis gifted her? All these details and more have become an exciting game to play every time the Chiefs are on the field, and Taylor is off her tour and ready to cheer on her tight-end prince.

However, an equally interesting -but often overlooked- part of her visits to the stadium is the company she brings along. If someone understands the power of a good friend group, it’s Taylor, the creator of the ‘girl squad’. Back in the 2010s, she was often seen in the city with her extensive-yet-close-knit group of friends, including models, actresses, and other singers. Now that she’s attending the games so frequently, she has continued this tradition, always making sure to bring some friends along to cheer on her boyfriend. As we await to see who will make an appearance in the suites before she goes back to tour in October, here’s a who’s who of all the gals and pals that accompanied her throughout the 2023 season. 

Robyn and Blake Lively

While Taylor went to her first game solo, doing a hard launch of her relationship by watching the game with Travis Kelce’s family and leaving the stadium hand in hand with him, her second appearance made up for the lack of a squad. 

Sisters Robyn and Blake Lively were among the group that attended the October 1st match against the Jets in MetLife Stadium. Blake’s friendship with Taylor can be perfectly summed up by the fact that Lively’s kids inspired the song ‘Betty,’ and her daughter James is the opening voice in ‘Gorgeous.’ This closeness explains why she would be a part of Taylor’s first suite crew. 

Alongside Blake was her sister, Robyn. The actress, who has appeared on shows like ‘Doogie Howser, M.D.’ and ‘Twin Peaks,’ seemed to enjoy the game as she shared a picture to her ‘X’ followers. As a fun fact, Robyn might also be considered an honorary WAG since she is married to Burt Johnson, famously known as Coach Bolton in the ‘High School Musical’ saga. 

The Deadpool Team

If Blake had been there, it would have been inevitable that her husband, Ryan Reynolds, would have attended the game, too. The Deadpool actor has also developed a close friendship with Taylor that goes beyond being married to one of her closest friends. However, as close as he is to the singer, he is even closer to his best friend and ‘Wolverine’ actor Hugh Jackman. To complete the team, the director from the third installment of the saga, Shawn Levy, was there as well. 

Sabrina Carpenter

When she’s not working late, Sabrina occasionally attends the games. She was also at the Chiefs vs. Jets match, proving her gig as the Eras Tour opener has brought her closer than ever to Tay. In true It-Girl fashion, Sabrina wore a T-shirt that read ‘Sportswatcher.’ No team, just vibes is the perfect game-day look to leave quite an impression. 

Sophie Turner

Amid her divorce, Sophie has received constant support from Taylor. The two have been spotted going out together on several occasions, and Sophie even revealed Taylor let her stay at her New York apartment with her kids. So naturally, when the Queen of the North got the chance to be there for her friend while having a fun night out, she took it. 

Olivia DeJong

Through her friendship with Sophie Turner after working together in ‘The Staircase’, the ‘Elvis’ actress has also become close with Taylor. She was part of the Chiefs vs. Jets crew, posing for pictures with Sophie, Sabrina, Taylor, and Eras tour dancer Melanie Nyema.

The ‘Queer Eye’ food expert has been linked to Taylor in recent years. After appearing in the ‘You Need to Calm Down’ music video with the rest of his castmates, the two of them developed a closer friendship. As one of the seasons for his show was filmed in Kansas City, Antoni also has a special connection to the city, so his presence at the game was meaningful in more than one way. 

Haim Sisters 

Sisters Alana, Danielle, and Este are better known as Haim, the four-time Grammy-nominated rock group that also happens to be close friends with Taylor. They have collaborated on songs together, like the ‘Gasoline’ remix Taylor did to the Haim song or the ‘Evermore’ track ‘No body, no crime.’ For her appearance at Gillette Stadium when the Chiefs visited the Patriots last year, Alana was beside her friend to cheer on the Kansas City team. Now that Taylor is back for a new season, she brought Danielle and Este to witness the Chiefs closely beat the Cincinnati Bengals 26 to 25. 

Cara Delevigne

The supermodel is one of the OG ‘girl squad’ members, and she was inducted into the NFL group as she attended the Chiefs vs. Bills playoffs game with Taylor. While most people remember that night as the one that cemented Jason Kelce as a sideline shirtless icon, Cara was also in the suite cheering on Travis’ team. If you look close enough, you can see she’s standing a few feet away from Jason wearing a white beanie and getting into the game spirit. She was back the following week to witness the Chiefs win the Divisional game and advance to the Super Bowl. 

Special Squad: Super Bowl Night

Taylor had a massive entourage of friends for the game that saw the Chiefs win the Super Bowl. Among the attendees were actor Miles Teller with wife Keleigh, both of them close friends with her (he even starred in her ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ music video); music icon Lana del Rey, Tay’s friend and collaborator; Ice Spice, the rapper collaborated on the ‘Karma’ remix and has also developed a friendship with her after their work together; Blake Lively also returned to the suite. The game was every bit exciting, as the Chiefs claimed the championship title, their third ring in four Super Bowl appearances. Thankfully, Keleigh documented some of the excitement on her Instagram, showing the rollercoaster of emotions the group went through on such an action-packed night. 

After her first appearance this season and a few weeks left before she officially rejoins the Eras tour, we can’t wait to follow her WAG shenanigans, including all the fun and the fashion she exudes whenever she takes her rightful place in the stands.
