Once upon a time, in a city that never sleeps, Steinfeld was seen with Allen in public for the first time. The timing itself was a little odd, as word on the street was that Allen and his longtime girlfriend, Brittany Williams, had officially called it quits after about six years of dating. The pair were seen getting out of a black SUV, with Allen putting his arm around the famous singer shortly after getting out of the car.

Then, we get our first official post about the new couple. A few weeks after they were first spotted, they went on a cute little sushi date at Sushi by Bou in Chelsea. The restaurant owner posted a picture to his Facebook with the couple, along with the Chef and a couple of friends. In the post, you could see Allen with his arms around his new girl and Steinfield looking happy and giving the camera a thumbs-up.

Allen appeared on the Pardon My Take podcast and essentially confirmed his relationship with Steinfeld. Despite being seen together on dates, they had never officially acknowledged their relationship. Allen's discussion about the relationship on the podcast was a big deal!
He revealed feeling insecure about the relationship due to the intrusive nature of the paparazzi. The media's relentless pursuit of information about their private relationship surprised him, finally confirming their relationship.

And toward the end of the month, the two made a big step in their relationship with their first public appearance at a Buffalo Sabres game. They were seen in a suite enjoying the hockey game together.

At the start of the year, Hailee Steinfeld made a solo appearance at the Golden Globes.
